Is Bible College Necessary?

Over a week gone since my last post, so I thought I’d give you a treat; my first video podcasty thingy.

I recorded it last night, at about 11pm, and I thought I’d answer the questions asked by Jermayn last week.

“To be a minister, do you need to go to bible college? Is it beneficial? Does it help or hinder?”

I used iMovie 08 for the first time. It’s quick and simple, and it uploads directly to YouTube, cutting out heaps of work. However, it’s really limited. It doesn’t automatically slice the video for easy editing, so it’s a real pain to edit out mistakes. Therefore, here you have raw, and totally uncut footage. Read more…

Preparing for the future

I love life. Seriously. At times I get down like everyone else, but, overall I can’t believe how blessed I am.

The past 15 months of my life, and all that it has taken place, I never, ever expected.

True, I might also be able to say, that the past 15 months have been the most difficult of my life too. The pressures of Christian ministry, I would not wish on anyone, and I mean that. Feeling like you’re completely inadequate all the time, gets very exhausting, and sometimes nigh depressing. But, grace has kept me going, even if at times it seems like only just. Read more…

The Garden Fence

That’s where you are right now…

Yeah ok, I admit it’s from one extreme to the other, but there lies the beauty of keeping your mind open to all sorts of inspiration.

No doubt there’s a few things to straighten out, etc, so I’ll continue to tweak it as I get time. But, before I do, let me just explain the major reason I went for this look… Read more…

The Upcoming Redesign

It had to come of course. With the current design sporting the theme I created to raise a little money for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, there was always going to come the time when I’d revert to something more unique. I’ve been wearing the Bedrock Grid now for three months, so although I’ll continue to make the theme available to purchase (it’s just a mere $20 for those who don’t know), it’s time for something new around here.

——-

As a side note, the theme has raised £162 for the charity so far. Better than entering it into a fraud WordPress theme contest (yes, it seems our gut feeling was correct, and the competition was a hoax). But, I’m glad to be able to say, the target of £4,000 has been reached! The target has therefore been pushed to £10,000 (that’s over AU$21,000 for you aussies. WOW! The British pound is falling apart!!).

Thankfulness Midst a Test of Faith

I’m now officially a Mac convert. In a week or two I’ll give a full, unbiased review of the Macbook Pro now in my possession. However, for now, I just want to share a few things which have been both wonderful, and testing, through this ‘non-spiritual’ event.

Firstly, most of you are aware that this purchase was a matter of necessity. Melanie’s laptop died Monday week ago, and left us a little stuck. However, although I pointed out the lesson of learning to wait on making purchases like this, and praying about it, so that you know when the right time is to buy, I didn’t point out something else wonderful.
