Thankfulness Midst a Test of Faith
I’m now officially a Mac convert. In a week or two I’ll give a full, unbiased review of the Macbook Pro now in my possession. However, for now, I just want to share a few things which have been both wonderful, and testing, through this ‘non-spiritual’ event.
Firstly, most of you are aware that this purchase was a matter of necessity. Melanie’s laptop died Monday week ago, and left us a little stuck. However, although I pointed out the lesson of learning to wait on making purchases like this, and praying about it, so that you know when the right time is to buy, I didn’t point out something else wonderful.
God’s timely provision…
The next day after Mel’s laptop died, I received post from the Australia Reserve Bank; and although some of it will be set aside for something else, the lump of cash greatly eased the burden of buying the MBP. I cannot tell you how many times when I’ve needed to shell out considerable amounts of money for practical and enjoyable things, and then money comes from nowhere.
The text, “Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart” comes quickly to mind. I know I’m far from the perfect example as one who ‘delights in the Lord’ as it were, but God knows I humbly want to love Him and do what’s right, and in turn He never ceases to amaze me with His goodness.
The test of faith…
After ordering the MBP on Thursday, it arrived on Monday to my delight, with everything working as it should. However, yesterday I just discovered that Apple have upgraded their MBP range. The base model (the one I bought) now comes with a 2.4Ghz processor (was 2.2Ghz), 256mb graphics card (was 128mb), 200Gb hard drive (was 120Gb), and a multi-touch trackpad.
To be honest, I the processor and trackpad upgrade aren’t really a big deal to me. The faster processor wouldn’t be even be noticeable. However, the extra 80Gb of storage, and double the graphics ‘oomph’, would have been nice. Or, I could have bought the model I’m holding for about $200 less.
Big deal…
Having said that, and although it took a few minutes for me to settle and be content, I’m happy with what I have, knowing that I have what I have because God provided for it. How dare I even think of complaining that it’s not perfect!

looking forward to hearing from you tonight!!!! believe the test run went ok! im sure u will be very tired and remember…we get to see on screen!
Joanna - Hope you enjoyed it. Everything seemed to go fairly smoothly (on the technical side).
