Now Adorned With The Bedrock Grid WordPress Theme

This is a quick note to say, you’re now viewing the new theme which I will be releasing within the next 24hrs.

There are a few little issues to tidy up, and I’ll be personalizing this theme to suit my own site.

I’ll post later with the details as to how you can have this design for your own site, and all the features of the theme.

    Just stopping by. I was thinking I might “stick” around, rather than “sick” around even though your intro asked me to - the visitors coming after me might not appreciate it ;) Theme = great btw. I’m almost catching the design bug again….

    PS. Not sure if it’s intentional, but after saving the comment, the ajax timer only shows the time remaining, the other text “You may click on your name and/or comment to edit” is the same colour as the bg.

    I like it…but then again, I liked the old one too….it was kinda young n funky….but thats probably not the look you were going for anyway…

    Very cool design. I like the subscribe, search, and about section. You put a lot of information in that area, and it looks great. Everything seems so neat and structured, which is just how I like my blog designs.

    I like it better than the old theme because it loads faster.

    Looking a little closer, I do have a small quip. The area to the right of the title and picture could be reorganized. The search box looks (to me) like it’s where you sign up to subscribe by email because it’s right under the big RSS button. I’d reorder it as Search, then the brief about section, then the RSS and then the Subscribe by Email. That’s my instinct.

    Peter - Thanks ;) It’s a bug for sure, and one I must admit, I’ve caught.

    As for the Ajax timer, that’s an issue with the edit comments plugin, which isn’t anything to do with the theme. However, it needs changed nonetheless.

    Brian and Taleen - I haven’t necessarily moved away from the other theme. I changed for the benefit of letting people see this theme in action. Over time, I might revert back to the older theme, or dress up this one :)

    Justin - Thanks, I appreciate that. What do you think of David’s thoughts on that area? Do you think the search bar is confusing, and that people might think it’s for email?

    David - Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement. I’m pondering over what you pointed out. I don’t think it looks right with the search bar above the ’subscribe to RSS’, but I might be able to come up with something else.

    I agree that search form (and about text) must be above the RSS icon to prevent misunderstanding.
