Sheep Shearing in South Australia

Ok, I admit it…I’m a ‘towny’. I’ve never lived on a farm, nor even in the country and being completely honest, I don’t know if I would ever choose to live outside a town or a city. However, I like learning about country lifestyles, especially when it’s something interesting - like sheep shearing!

Well, it’s maybe not the most exciting thing I’ve ever done, but I enjoyed it all the same. I’ve never had the opportunity to see a sheep sheared in real life, so I was looking forward to it when I was given the chance.

Here’s a video clip of what we saw. If you have any questions about it, just ask.

Enjoy!

Joanna…I think it might have been fast-forwarded, a tiny bit, for the whole video….not just the bit you are talking about !

    LOL!

Joanna - Yes, it is fast forwarded. I thought you’d be able to take in just as much. They are still pretty fast though, with each man doing about thirty each hour.

Jed - I’m glad you liked it :)
Glenn - lol…not a chance! I was in my dressy shirt and trousers, on my way to a Bible study.
It’s not a very pleasent job either, which is why those men are well paid, getting about AU$2/sheep, or something like that.
