A Familiar Trend

For those of you who follow this blog closely, you will know that now and then there are ‘lulls’ in the posting frequency now and again. Now there’s a trend for the general reason as to why this happens, and some of you may have noticed it. It usually happens when I’m working on a new design.

“Oh no”, I hear some of you say, “He’s not changing the design again…”. Well, not on this site. I’m actually very happy with the look of this site, and have no desire at the present time to change the way it looks (you’ll be glad to know).

I’m actually working on a new design for the highly informative nutrition site, Dietriffic. The problem with the current design of Dietriffic is that so much excellent information becomes lost with the ‘blog’ format, where new posts push down the old into the archives, rarely to be seen ever again. The new design will hopefully help to counter that problem.

This will be the third design I have done for this site. The first was big and bold, with a bright red and green colour scheme. That was replaced about three months ago with the current design, which adopted red, white and blue (excellent colours ;) ), and a 3 column layout to help with the increasing need for space. The new design will be more unique than ever, and has pushed my lacking skills to the limit.

I’ll let you know when it’s finished, and I’ll be looking for an honest critique from you all. :)

hehehe, i am constantly changing my theme, I see a new design style and have to have it. I personally like the sidebar approach as it helps the viewers (i.e. They may want to know summin so instead of searching through the entire blog they could just click on the sidebar) also i like to have a lot of refrering links so i need a sidebar.

I quite like your design, I have just started designing wordpress themes and am in the process of creating one for my blog. I am currently using K2 (getk2.com) which is a very nice system making full use of ajax and other nice features.

Jonty - Yeah, it’s hard to live without the sidebar. We can come quite dependant on it, which is why I initially tried to work without it.

By the look of your about page, you should have your own design, although K2 is a respected and versatile theme.

Thanks for visiting, and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it.
