It’s been quite some time since I posted the video, “Adventures With Brecca“. In fact, it’s been over three months! So, anticipating that some of you would like to see how she’s getting on, I’ve got a few photo’s which I took of her today.
Some time ago I said to Melanie, that I think maybe God designed dogs in such a way,
that they could be used to be a help for man. Interestingly, last Tuesday while I was doing door-to-door visitation, Melanie was watching a DVD on Creation, and the creation scientist on the documentary said the same thing. Seriously, if you’re going to have a pet, a dog is the only creature that really makes any sense! However, a debate about what animals are best to have as pets, was not the intention of this post, so without further ado, let us go on.
In case you weren’t aware, she is supposed to be a ‘Kelpie’. I say supposed to be, because there’s a little problem, and that is, she’s too little. Now Kelpie’s apparently come in different shapes, sizes, and colours (I can’t figure this out, if it’s a breed, there ought to be strict determining features, but Aussie’s don’t go by the book), but Brecca is way smaller than a ‘regular’ Kelpie. Having said that, it suits us better that this is the case. In fact, I believe it to be of the Lord.
Brecca also has some unique characteristics. Notice her markings are symetrical. If she has a mark on one side, it’s almost exactly the same on the other. For example, notice her tan coloured ‘eyebrows’, the markings on each side of the jaw, and the markings of her front legs in the second photo.

She also possesses amazingly long legs, something that you can’t fully appreciate from any of this shots, and she also has some characteristics of a feline. For eample, she has a tendancy now and again to pounce on things, use her paws like a cat in many ways, and chases birds; and get this…she has left numerous rodents at our back door! Now we’re not sure if she’s catching them, or finding dead ones that may have been caught by something else, or poisoned. At any rate, we’re glad she isn’t eating them! Truly, she’s unique!

Yeah these photos are just what i was waiting for, Brecca is just lovely, hard to believe its over three months since we last saw her cant wait to see her in person. Definitely a gift from God to help man. Never heard of a dog leaving the little presents at the back door before, certainly all my cats used to do that, it shows appreciation for their owners. Spk soon.

Is it possible that Brecca is showing the first signs of the evolutionary transition between canine and feline?

Kyle - I’ll need to get on MSN and have a yarn with you brother. It’s been a while.
June - It’s a pity they couldn’t do something useful in order to show their appreciatation!

Daniel - Don’t worry. I’m not a huge lover of ‘Christmas’. It’s a commercialised, materialistic time, where Christian’s along with the rest of the world, can seem to excuse their wastefulness and gluttony, as something which honours the Lord. For me it’s a family time, where I show my appreciation in a small way to those whom I love. However, I’m not into tree’s, fat men in red suits, telling lies to children, and other traditionally pagan rooted rituals.
Having said that, I wouldn’t take much time to rebuke others over it. If someone’s conscience can make an excuse to tell a lie, then that’s between them and God.
