Richard Dawkins
When I came across the above, I decided to do a study. Not a big study, where I would try to give a deeply theological answer as to how the Bible characterizes God; but just go through and find the scriptures that say “God is…” in reference to areas of his character.
The first reference where you find, “God is” is actually found in Genesis 20:11, where it says, “And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place…”
Now this reference doesn’t directly relate to the character of God, or who He is, so it’s an example of what I’m not looking for. I will also not include references such as, “God is a refuge”, because that is discribing what he is to us, not exactly what he is. I’ve also been selective, as there are 157 occurences of the phrase. Where I feel the statement has already been represented, I have left other occurences out. Finally, I’ve also excluded any references to, “God is not…”.
The Verses
“For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” Deut 4:24
“(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.” Deut 4:31
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” Deut 6:4
“For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you…” Deut 6:15
“For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible…” Deut 10:17
“…for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.” 2 Chron 30:9
“Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.” Job 33:12
“Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom” Job 36:5
“Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.” Job 36:26
“God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” Psalm 7:11
“For God is the King of all the earth” Psalm 47:7
“For God is judge himself.” Psalm 50:6
“He that is our God is the God of salvation.” Psalm 68:20
“For the LORD our God is holy.” Psalm 99:9
“For the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.” Daniel 9:14
“He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.” John 3:33
“God is a Spirit…” John 4:24
“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:” Acts 10:34
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Cor 1:9
“…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:8
Although we know Dawkin’s definition of God is twisted, we can see from the quoted scriptures, unless he repents, he’s going to find out, not that God himself is “unpleasent”, but that the consequence of his deliberate rebellion and anger against God, will be most unpleasent. God is a consuming fire, jealous, mighty, holy, righteous, true, and a judge who is no respecter of persons! Therefore, Christian’s around the world should be praying for Dawkins, just as much as for anyone else. Had not God opened my heart to receive His truth, I would still be exactly like him.

How is Dawkins to reply against God?
Of course his own Atheist friends have been so ‘nice’. About 100 million peole were slain in the 20th century by atheist regimes.
