Contrasts In The Body Of Christ

beach

I love the above photograph. There’s such a contrast of bold, yet natural colours.

Yesterday I posted a video concerning the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, and added a few comments on how it disheartens me to see the people of God believing in such things. I meant what I said. It bothers me that people who have been enlightened by the Spirit, believe something that I can’t see anywhere in the scriptures.

I really appreciate every comment that was left on that post. That’s what this blogging is all about. Sharing idea’s, thoughts, concerns, experiences, beliefs, and then supporting them, challenging them, and questioning them.

There are millions of Christian’s across the world, and they believe in the pre-trib rapture. Many of them are more knowledgeable in the Bible than me. That makes me wonder…where am I going wrong? What does the Bible teach that I’m completely missing?

In some ways the people of God are like the above photograph. There are contrasts, very defined and easy to spot contrasts. However, they are all in the one image. Likewise, there are evident contrasts within the Church, but we’re all in the one body. Infact, the differences in this single photograph is what makes it special (to me at least). I wonder if that’s what could make the body of Christ special?

What do I mean? I’m not saying that differences are good, but lets be honest; even within genuine believers, they’re never going to be eradicated. So what I’m saying is, it’s not the differences that may make us special, it’s our bonding love inspite of the differences that may make us special.

John told us, “he that hateth his brother, is a murderer” Do you hate any brethren?

Let us strive for truth, let us strive with all our hearts for it. But let it not be at the cost of love. Without love, we are nothing…nothing!

Excellent post Armen! I love the photo too!!

Yes, this is very true. We ought to love one another in spite of our differences of opinions or views!

    Armen,

I appreciated your post and your comment yesterday. It is refreshing to see true fundamentalism in action. Two people can differ on more peripheral issues, but still find unity in the fundamental truths of God’s Word, including the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Who knows, maybe someday when we’ve got some extra time, we can have at it over the pre-trib rapture thing. =)

Jason - I’m thinking about putting up a more detailed post on the Pre-trib rapture, taking a more comprehensive approach. I’ll maybe let the dust settle a little first though ;)

Haven't you got anything to say?
