The Big Man - A Profile of Ian Paisley

I’ve just come across and listened to a show that was broadcast on Sunday by BBC Radio 4.

Without getting into the situation going on politically in Northern Ireland at the minute, I invite you all to listen to what is in many respects one of the few profiles by the media that doesn’t seek to blast the reputation of Dr. Ian Paisley into the ground.

At over 80 years of age, his life in the ministry of the gospel and in British and European politics, has been under public scrutiny for well over half a century.

The show possesses interviews by those who absolutely despise him. However, I think it comes across quite clear that the reporter has been impacted more by the deep love and humility of Dr. Paisley. If you know little about one of the most steadfast defenders of the faith over the last 60 years, listen to it - then go and download some of his old sermons off Sermon Audio!

You can get listen to the 30 minute show here.

He actually came across real nice, happy and..himself, in the elections this year.

Not always the side you get to see of him politically.

Hmmm, I don’t like RealPlayer, I wonder if it’s been recorded in mp3 format anywhere else?

Kyle - I would doubt it at this stage anyway. I could record it onto mp3 if you want?

Nah, it’s probably not worth the hassle! Thanks for the offer though!

Thank you for posting the audio link.

Also, I read you suggestion to Tim Challies about quoting more of the book ‘the Reformation, how a Monk and a Maller Changed the World.

I like your suggestion, so, I have just completed this book as well and will be giving my own review of it at blog.shanetrammel.com.

When I do start the review, I will give some quotes for those that may decide not to buy the book. Here is the link to where the review will be.

I would be great if you would send me an email so I would have it. I will let you know when I start doing my review.

Shane - Glad you appreciated my suggestion, and for letting us know about it.

Haven't you got anything to say?
