Lock Children’s Bible Club

For those of you that weren’t aware, it’s summer over here in Australia. Because of that, the schools are closed from half way through December until the end of January.

This week therefore, see’s all the kids return to school, and because of this the children’s work within the churches recommences. For Lock, this is in the form of a Bible Club on a Tuesday afternoon straight after school.

So Mel and I left at around 1:30pm to head up to Lock for 3:30pm. Sadly though, not one child turned up for the meeting.

Now it’s not as bad as it sounds. Infact, it’s quite common because none of the children or their parents remember about the meeting because they’re just back from a six week break. However, it’s still a matter of prayer and I would ask you all to remember this if you can. An advert has been placed in the newspaper for this week, so hopefully the locals see it and send their children next week.

This week I had to be up in Lock to take the mid-week meeting at 8pm anyway, but next week I’m in Port Lincoln and it would be a shame to drive 90 miles or so and no children turn up, and then drive back immediately another 90 miles to get home for the mid-week service in Port Lincoln.

By right, there really should be a minister in Lock. Who do you know drives the guts of 200 miles (round trip) for a bible club that they’re not even sure if anyone is going to turn up for? There needs to be a man to go around the area frequently and speak to the locals. I’m so busy preparing and driving to all the services that I’m not sure if I’ll get much time to evangelise Port Lincoln, never mind Lock and Elliston.

Keep praying that the Lord of the harvest would send forth labourers, and that He may even send some here.
