Not alot to report on yesterdays events. I spent a good few hours in the study and then we had to leave at 3pm to head up to Elliston for their 5:30pm Bible study and prayer meeting.
The weather forecast said that it was going to be 25C, but it was definately hotter, even here in Port Lincoln where it’s usually cooler than most other places. However, as we drove up country towards Elliston in the afternoon, it just got hotter and hotter.
Now I don’t mind the heat. In fact, I love it whenever I’m outside enjoying it. But when you’re sitting in a car for almost 2 hours wearing a shirt and trousers, it just gets a little uncomfortable.
As we were driving up I checked the thermometer and it said 35C inside the car and 37C outside. I thought it was maybe wrong because of what the forecast had said, but I asked the people in Elliston and one of them had recorded it at 39C at one stage, so the weather folks get it wrong here too I suppose.
The meeting at Elliston was good. Melanie really enjoys it. It’s just in the home of one of the men who attend and there are only about six of us there, but it’s really good.
After the time of prayer just like last week, we got fish and chips and after there was the most massive sponge I have ever seen in my life! It must have been nearly 20cm deep and it was bought because it was the birthday of a woman that attends the meeting.
On the way home I had to dodge a few rabbits and a fox. Why do they sit in the middle of the road?? Especially the rabbits. Daft creatures! I think I read somewhere years ago that the headlights dazzle them and they get confused. You’d think they’d learn to stay away from the road and then tell their posterity what they’ve learnt!
Anyway…today is Australia Day, and it’s the Tunarama Festival in Port Lincoln this weekend, so stay tuned for what should be the product of some interesting photos.

Happy Australia Day…We went swimming at a beach called Pearl beach and had lunch, spent time with some new friends and that was it. I didn’t feel very patriotic tho!
Keep up your blogging.

A belated Happy Australia Day to you too brother. Funny…I didn’t feel like I got into the spirit of the day either, but more on that when I post.
Keep in touch. If you’re ever down this way you’re more than welcome to stay.

No doubt you could make the best of sponges…pity you never made them for me though!
