A few new things to note…

In case you hadn’t noticed, there are a few changes. Some of them are more important than others.

1) New header image

Probably the most noticeable change is the new blog header image. Now I really liked the last one. It was created as a kind of ’experiment’ by my good friend and brother Kyle, but I really liked it and it’s been up basically since the beginning of the blog. Recently though, I thought that it should be a little more relevant to the blog and so I decided that it should include the five things that have the most impact on my life.

i) The Word of God

ii) God’s word to me as an individual (the verse caused me to know His will for my life)

iii) My wife

iv) Where I’m living/ministering

v) My own madness

And above is my effort at putting it all together, and I’m quite pleased with it to be honest. This is now my fourth attempt at designing a ‘banner’ so I’m not very experienced at it, but I’m happy with this one. Having said that, if Kyle wants to have a go at making another, I’ll be more than happy to see what he comes up with.

2) Colour changes

There have also been a few minor colour changes. You may not notice them, but the subtle differences were just to keep things looking up to scratch, making everything blend a little more. Basically, the bright green that you may have noticed for things such as links, has been replaced with a ‘friendlier’ torquoise shade.

3) Recent comments

On the left sidebar, you’ll note a new section, “Recent Comments”. It speaks for itself really. Here will be a few words from the most recent comments people have left (excludes my own) on posts and you can click here to easily catch up with what’s being said.

4) Subscribe to email updates

On the right sidebar you’ll notice a new ‘box’ asking for you to enter your email address. Now maybe you’re like me and sometimes you forget about a website and forget to visit it, even though you really like it. Well, in the fear that you might forget about Armen’s Blog, I have set up a system through FeedBurner. All you do is enter your email address and then you’ll get the posts sent straight to your email inbox. That way you don’t even have to visit the site (unless you want to leave a comment which I always really appreciate), the site visits you.
It may also be helpful for those you who only have the internet at work and certain websites are blocked, or you don’t want to get caught reading a website that isn’t connected to your work. Instead, just enter your work email address and have it sent to your personal inbox, then no one will ever know ;) It also may be helpful for people travelling that have access to their emails, but not to the internet.

So…sign up!! Do it now :)
5) Subscribe to RSS Feeds

The last thing is the little box in the right sidebar that says ‘readers’ in it. This for those of you who keep track of websites and blogs through an RSS Feeder. Now don’t worry if you don’t understand this, it is only for the benefit for those that do and for most of you you’ll not need it if you subscribe to emailed updates. It basically is a way for people to keep up-to-date on lots of blogs and websites in a faster way than visiting each one individually. I don’t even use it myself (yet), but the service is there for those that do.

lol! As I said to you the other day… your banner making skills have increased tenfold!

I don’t know if I actually can improve on the new one - but if you’re setting a challenge, then I’ll have a go!!! ;)
    God Bless bro!

    Kyle

It wouldn’t be too hard to improve tenfold…my first couple of attempts were horrendous. But thanks to a few pointers, and observing from those who are more knowledgeable in the area (such as your good self), I’ve improved to a degree where they’re at least modestly presentable.

We’ve another project to be doing, so maybe you should save your ‘project time’ for that ;)
May God be with you too!
