Left - Darren Rowse Right- Judge Jules
Well for many this may appear to be a rather random post, but I just couldn’t help it.
For some time now, I’ve regularly stopped by at Darren Rowse’s popular blog that gives guidance to those of us who are interested in the area of ‘blogging’. On Darren’s blog, he displays a rather natural looking picture of himself and while I was looking at it one day, I had a feeling that I knew someone who looked very like him.
After a moment or two of pondering, I suddenly realised that it was the world famous DJ, Judge Jules! Now as far as I’m aware, Darren is no DJ.
What I did think was interesting though, is the dramatic turn in career that both men have had in their lives. I don’t know all the particulars, but as far as I’m aware, Darren was a Baptist pastor a few years ago before he began his online career in blogging. Now unless he was like Joel Osteen, Darren now makes heaps more money than he ever did as a pastor and although he helps thousands everyday in this area, I’d have to quote C. H. Spurgeon here, “If God calls you to be a preacher, don’t stoop to be a king”. Having said that, I don’t know the man, nor his reasons for changing.
On the other hand, Judge Jules (I am aware of him because of my lifestyle prior to becoming a Christian) studied Law at the London School of Economics and actually achieved a second class honours in his degree. With his christian name being Julius, he then adopted the name ‘Judge Jules’ when he began djing and has become hugely popular and known throughout the world, meaning that he too probably makes more money now than he would have in his initial career choice, but he also may have been put to better use in the courts of Law.
Both men are celebrities within their respective fields, and in my opinion they look very similar. ‘Judge’ for yourself!
