Well sitting up late this evening (not intentional) allowed me to discover that Australia’s channel ‘Ten’ shows ‘Christian’ programmes after midnight some time. I ignored it for the most part, as I know only too well the trash that’s poured out of the ‘God Channel’ that is shown on Sky television over in the U.K.
However, after a few shows the infamous Benny Hinn appeared. For a short time I stopped what I was doing and watched as he knocked people onto their backs as some sort of sign that they’d been healed by his God given power. Now I’ve ranted about this often in the past, but once more won’t harm anyone. Who does this guy think he is?
For starters, why do professing Christians shake like they’re having a fit and then fall backwards onto the floor? As far as I’m aware, you’ll find nowhere in scripture where worshippers of the true and living God fell backwards. God’s people always fall on their faces in humble adoration and worship.
Also, how do the two men behind the person know that they’re going to fall backwards? It would be interesting if one fell forwards and consequently the men wouldn’t be able to catch them, and the ‘victim’ would go crashing to the floor head first!
Having said all that, the thing that annoyed me the most tonight was his downright dirty, filthy lies. At the end of the programme, he sat in his office chair in his charismatic, white and black oriental style suit and after quoting a few verses, he began to make an appeal for donations to his ministry, claiming that they had had a bad year and funds were low! He continued by threatening that he may have to cancel his global preaching campaigns which would “prevent the gospel from going out to thousands of people” if people didn’t support the ministry by giving!!
What a false prophet this man is! About five years ago, his ministry’s estimated annual income was around $100 million! This of course they deny, and because they are a registered charity, they don’t have to make their books public…appropriately!
Why do people fall for this? How come there is so much ignorance? WAKE UP PEOPLE!
For those of you who are not aware of this man, I’ve included a video clip. The clip (which wasn’t made by me) has been made as a mockery with rock music backing it, and although I do not approve of rock music, my opinion is that it’s highly appropriate!

It’s a good job that your dad isn’t such a pastor. Otherwise some of us could have had very different views, myself included.

Interesting how the rock music seems to fit so well with what he is doing. Clearly they both have the same spirit behind them, and its certainly not the spirit of God!

Precisely! That’s what I mean by it being “appropriate”. What’s even sadder is the impact/impression such antics have on the unconverted.
Haven't you got anything to say?
